Welcome to the Burnt Hill Charge
Two hundred years have passed since the first circuit-riding minister rode into the Little Kanawha District of the Methodist Church and stopped upon the hill overlooking the valley just outside Williamstown, Virginia. Much has changed since that time. West Virginia became a state in time of great turmoil. Faces, styles of dress, pressing issues of the community, controversies, and politics have changed. But many things have thankfully remained the same like the love of our God, His call to His disciples to be witnesses to the world, that hunger and thirst are quenched by His grace, and the need to hear His Word proclaimed in all corners of the world.

The Burnt Hill Charge of the Little Kanawha District proudly but humbly has had a great influence in the spiritual lives of the residents of northern Wood County that live along Old St. Mary's Pike, in the community of Ogdin, and especially for those families living around Burnt Hill. The faces of those we see in this church are just a glimpse of all of those that have served, who are actively serving, and will serve our Lord in the future. If you look closely, you may recognize the family characteristics of those who settled this great land.

We invite you to come and join with us in loving, spirit-filled worship in the tradition brought to this country by one of the pastorsof the history of our family, Francis Asbury. May God grant you peace and love. I am,

In God's service,
Rev. Randy Mitchell, Pastor
