Dear Lord, CREATE in us a New, so in our lives we
can be more like You. Thank you Lord for
this New Year, for the New members on your UMW District team, for our New quadrenial theme, and for all UMW secretaries new and
returning in this new year of 2009!! Let
us all be open to the work the Lord has created
for us to do for Him this year. We can
start with helping in each unit meeting to keep the focus on knowing God, and
developing a creative, supportive
fellowship, that furthers the work of His kingdom. Help to keep your unit members informed. Continually review the District Calendar
(found on the UMW District web site or in your District Directory) and make it
a point to lead your unit in attending these District events. They are all planned with YOU in mind. Work with your President to keep your meeting
agenda’s in line with our UMW Purpose.
If you don’t have a Communications person, please make sure either you
or your President keep the women of your church informed of UMW happenings
though articles in your church newsletter or a bulletin. I can’t say Thank You enough for all you do
for the Lord and the UMW. Thank you for
stepping forward to be your unit’s secretary!!!
This will be my last year as your District Secretary and I’ll be sad to
leave you. I pray you will be in prayer
for the District Nominating committee to find the person God has in mind to
replace me this next year. Who knows, it
might even be YOU J Pray more,
listen to God more, love Him more, and follow His teachings and He will CREATE a new person in Christ within us!
