The Mission of Our Church

Burlington United Methodist Church brings people to God by sharing Christ's message of love. It is a hopeful, healing, inclusive message -- one that answers emptiness and cynicism with spiritual meaning and purpose. We eagerly share this message, individually and as a Christian community, through preaching and teaching, worship, prayer, fellowship, mutual support, and outreach. Although a small, family church we provide community leadership. We help set standards of high quality in our activities. We invite everyone to join us on a life-long journey of spiritual growth.

  • "Loyal Hustlers" - Meeting in the Basement Fellowship Hall -- We are a group of dynamic adults who meet every Sunday morning at 10:50, and on other special occasions, to discuss topics of importance to us, and to have a good time.
  • NEW MEMBER CLASS[NEW] - 10:50, February 2 - March 23, in the Long Room -- What is the church all about? The United Methodist Doctrine and Polity will be explored. Pastor David Duke, leads the group.
  • "Willing Helpers" - Meeting in the Library -- We are a group of older adults who meet every Sunday morning at 10:50, and on other special occasions, to discuss topics of importance to us, and to have a good time.

    Service -- There are many service opportunities in the general areas of Administration, Christian Education, the Church Community, Membership Development, Outreach, Worship, etc.

    Committees -- Burlington United Methodist Church is led by its membership through active participation in a variety of committees: Pastor-Parish Relations, Caring Ministries, Board of Trustees, Membership, and Church Council.

    Fellowship -- There are many fellowship opportunities at our church, including, the Walk to Emmaus, Weekly Bible Study, Men's Breakfast Group, Chancel Choir, Prayer Groups, the Great Banquet, United Methodist Youth Fellowship (UMYF), Burlington United Methodist Men Singers, United Methodist Women (UMW) -- and many others.

    Special Ministries -- Vacation Bible Schoool, Summer Camping, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts
