Fort Blackmore United Methodist Camp is a mission camp operated by the United Methodist Church and is located in the Big Stone Gap District of the Holston Conference. This beautiful mountain camp is centrally located in the heart of Scott County Virginia. Fort Blackmore UM Camp is just the place to commune with nature and God.
Overnight
lodging is limited to a small cabin, just across the creek, or, you can bring
your tents. The Camp is raising money to build temporary and permanent housing
due to the condeming of a two-story, authentic log cabin on the grounds. This
old cabin slept up to 50 people, but is no long available. The recreation hall
is very spacious and inviting. It is furnished with a piano and enough tables
and chairs to convene a meeting, worship service, or added dining space. Cooks
will be delighted to prepare meals in the oversized kitchen. Kids will be delighted
to know that there's also a pool (swim season: June-August). It is located across
the road from the recreation hall and has a large pool house which includes
facilities for both women and men.
Who can use the camp? Fort Blackmore United Methodist Camp hosts family reunions,
vacation bible schools, weekend retreats, scouting groups, church picnics, revivals,
Sunday school groups and many more. If your group would like to unwind and commune
with nature then Fort Blackmore United Methodist Camp is just the spot
for you to book your next outing. There are times in all of our lives where
we need to leave the hustle and bustle of everyday living behind and let our
spirit be refreshed.

Fort Blackmore United Methodist Camp needs individuals, churches, organizations,

restructuring, reprogramming and renovating this old, historic camp. Fort Blackmore
strives to uphold its purpose and provides ministries and opportunity for spiritual
growth for children, youth and adults through participating in activities, camping
