On November 20, 1905, the faithful and inspired congregation of this church had reached the time to hoist the inscribed block of granite into place on the southwest front corner of the beautiful, almost completed, new sanctuary. Church records dating from the mid-19th century were sealed behind the cornerstone. A picture of the brick church as it looked in 1907 is in the history from 1838 - 1988 by Gene Barber.
On November 20, 2005, there was a Celebration Service commemorating the occasion. In preparation of the celebration, Lyle Certain made models to display in the Narthex to allow the church family to get a better idea of how the original wooden church looked. The model of the exterior is about 7" wide by 17" long and 17" high. Models of the exterior and interior have been given to the Arthur J. Moore Museum at Epworth where they stay on display with appropriate identification. Our church can borrow them anytime we like. | ||
