Sunday School

It's far more important than many believe.

Children and youth who regularly attend Sunday School grow into adulthood with gifts and graces unlearned anywhere else. They have a knowledge of the Bible and know how to use it as a spiritual guide in their lives. They learn how to pray and think of God as their close friend.

They develop relationships with others that are usually closer and more meaningful than anywhere else. They learn how to interact with their firends in music and Christian drama. They have teachers and other adult workers who dearly love them.

Sunday School is important for adults, too! The Bible study, the time of prayer, and fellowship cannot be duplicated anywhere else in our society. Sunday School is for everybody!

FROM BEAU SWAFFORD
(Director of Children/Youth)

November 2009

I am sitting at my parents house writing this article.  I'm actually in my old room so I feel like I'm 7 years old.  But that's ok. I am just happy to be here to spend some time with my family.

Which really brings me to what I want to say this month. As I was driving here today (in a rainstorm) it hit me that it gets more difficult to say I'm driving home when I'm leaving for Villa Rica.  I will always love VR but Brunswick has become my home.

I just want to thank you as a church for being my home and family.  You never cease to amaze me with the love and kindness that you continually share.  It has been truly a blessing to be a part of this church family.

Please continue to pray for not only the children and youth ministries, but also all the ministries of our church.  Thank you all so Much.

BEAU

P. S. Remember! The youth group is doing a Sunday Night Bible study on the Book of James during the month of November.

Remember! Children’s Church will be in the Miller Building for the next few weeks!

Remember! The youth and I deeply appreciate your support with the Boston Butt Fund Raiser to help raise funds for our winter retreat!

Remember! We love you all for supporting the successful Second Annual Trunk or Treat Event on October 28!

In our Children's Ministry, we have also added an eXtreme Sunday service.  This is a service just for the Children's Ministry on the last Sunday of the month and is led by the youth Ministry.   Just a few reminders for you parents if your child is going to eat pizza on wednesday nights, please let the church office know.

Remember - Children's church will be in the Miller building for the next few weeks.

Please continue to look in your weekly bulletins for other events and updates.  Thank you for all your prayers for both of these ministries.

Exciting New Library for Children Planned

Train up a child in the way he should go:and when he is old, he will not depart from it. Proverbs 22: 6

The Education Committee has voted to purchase 31 DVD's to start a library for the K-5th grade age children and located conveniently in their classroom.

These DVD's are both Old and New Testament stories that are educational and entertaining. They are brought to life by the studios of Richard Rich, formerly Walt Disney Production Director of such classics as Winnie the Pooh and The Fox and The Hound.

We encourage parents to check out these DVD's and watch them with their children. We thank the Duncan class for money that has been donated to use for education purposes. Seeing + hearing + doing = 90% Retention.

We are also asking that families that have DVD's, videos, and Christian books that have been treated with loving care but that their children have grown tired of or outgrown, to please donate to this new library.

We will be moving anything in the adult library to this new location so that everything will be more convenient for families to check out and return.
