Children and youth who regularly attend Sunday School grow into adulthood with gifts and graces unlearned anywhere else. They have a knowledge of the Bible and know how to use it as a spiritual guide in their lives. They learn how to pray and think of God as their close friend. They develop relationships with others that are usually closer and more meaningful than anywhere else. They learn how to interact with their firends in music and Christian drama. They have teachers and other adult workers who dearly love them. Sunday School is important for adults, too! The Bible study, the time of prayer, and fellowship cannot be duplicated anywhere else in our society. Sunday School is for everybody! (Director of Children/Youth) Hello to all, Let me first thank you all as a church family for a very wonderful first month. It has been amazing!! Your outpouring of love and fellowship have truly made the transition very easy. Well, let me get down to the business of letting everyone know what we have going on. In the Children Ministry we just finished up our 2008 VBS. I want to thank everyone that helped with that! All of our teachers were great and we had an awesome time. A big thanks to Melinda Hollington for leading VBS this year. We have also just started our Tuesday morning "Summer in the Son." The Children Minsitry is spending 6 Tuesday mornings together starting June 24. So if you get a chance, please pray for me and the other parents that may be chaperoning on a Tuesday morning. We are also in the process of getting a Children's Committee started to help with overall leadership of the ministry. As for the Youth Ministry, we have a just started a 6 week Wednesday night Bible Study. We are also in the process of turning the old puppet room into our very own Youth Room. I would like to let our church family know that our youth group’s goal is to be more involved in the church. If there is anything with which we can assist, you please let us know. We are continuing through the summer to attend The Main Event (hosted by the Gathering Place at EBTS). We have seen a few of our youth recommit their lives to Christ. Lastly, I would like for you to know that although my title says Youth and Children I am a part of the whole church staff. If you need anything please stop by the office and see me. Beau |
