Adult Sunday School Classes

The Believers Class
Members: Ages about 35 - 55
Materials: Currently, we are using the James Moore series.
Presentation Format: Independent reading and class discussion
Other Information: Several members attend the Contemporary Service and are in the Praise Band. One project was clearing ground for a Habitat for Humanity house. We actively support projects of WAY Radio such as stuffing back packs of school supplies for needy children. New projects are being planned.
Class President and Teachers: President is Cherri Lee. Members take turns leading discussions.
Place: Annex Building on Norwich Street which is where the Contemporary Service is held.

The Covenant Class
Members: Ages about 35 - 55
Materials: The lesson topics are chosen by the teacher and are varied Christian topics.
Presentation Format: Class discussion.
Other Information: We provide a Christmas dinner with entertainment for church members who are senior singles. We participate in The Upper Room Prayer Ministry. We have a children's closet fund for children in need (from funds from the soda machine).
Class President and Teachers: The teacher is Justin Hollington.
Place: Miller Building. Enter from the large parking lot.

The Duncan Class
Members: Adults of all ages, singles and couples.
Materials: The lesson topics are chosen by the teachers and are varied Christian topics pertinent to Christians living in today's world.
Presentation Format: Discussion is encouraged.
Other Information: The Duncan Class has been an active group in the church for many years. Many members are in the Chancel Choir. We enjoy monthly fellowship with each other and provide great support for each other and our church family. There are two doors into the classroom, always open to receive visitors and new members; you can enter through either one.
Class President and Teachers: Led by Kathy Walker. The class is taught by various members on a rotating basis.
Place: Second Floor of the Educational Building. Second room on the right when coming from the stairs near the Miller Building.

The Fellowship Class
Members: Senior adults
Materials: International Bible Lessons
Presentation Format: Lecture and discussion
Other Information: This was the first class for couples in our church. Several other classes have been outgrowths of this class. We welcome all adults.
Class President and Teacher: Jane Faircloth
Place: Fellowship Hall: First Floor of the Educational Building nearest to Norwich Street.

The Journey Class
Members: Post high school (18 - 30's), singles and married
Materials: Bible based life application and Bible Studies
Presentation format: Lecture and discussion
Other Information: We have cook-outs, go out to eat, go bowling, and plan many other activities. We are a new class of young adults so many of our activities and service projects are in the planning stages. We welcome new people and new ideas.
Class President and Teacher: Paul Medders
Place: Second Floor of the Educational Building. Third room (fourth doorway) on the right when coming from the stairs near the Miller Building.

The Open Door Class
Members: Ages about 45+
Materials: Adult Bible Series
Presentation Format: We use a teacher presentation with class discussion format for learning more about lessons from the scripture. The class discussions provide a lively way of studying the Bible.
Other Information: The class meets quarterly (or more often) for social activities. We support Burroughs-Molette Elementary School with monetary contributions to their counselors for use in supporting needs of the students. We welcome anyone with an interest in studying the scriptures in an open learning mode.
Class President and Teachers: President is John Hamilton. The class is taught by a rotating group of members.
Place: First Floor of the Educational Building. Second room on the left when coming from the Miller Building.

The Together Class
Members: Senior adults
Materials: Adult Sunday School Quarterly International Bible Series
Presentation Format: Song, prayer, lessons from the Quarterly, rotating teachers
Other Information: A caring group of mature adults who enjoy fellowship and the opportunity to enjoy Bible based lessons taught by excellent teachers. This group takes great pleasure in hymn singing. We have a piano in the classroom. The annual social event is a Christmas party. We welcome new members. Please join us!
Class President and Teachers: Class President is Mack Haskins. Gene Barber and Dottie Brinson are the teachers.
Place: First Floor of the Educational Building. First two doors on the right when coming from the Miller Building.

The Seekers Class
Members: Adults age 30 and up!
Materials: Various books and studies selected by the class. We just completed a study on the book of James.
Presentation Format: Lecture with open discussion
Other Information: Seekers is a very open class with a lot of participation. We have quarterly social activities that are family oriented. We also provide support to families and children in need as identified within our local school system.
Class President and Teachers: Class President is Kevin Diestel. Lessons are taught by several class members on a rotating basis.
Place: Second Floor of the Educational Building. First room on the left when coming from stairs near the Miller Building.

The Wesley Class
Members: Senior adults
Materials: Bible study using a variety of resources such as the Purpose Driven Life series.
Presentation Format: Small group discussion with emphasis on spiritual growth through sharing our lives as Christians and supporting each other in our walk with Christ.
Other Information: We support the Methodist Children's Home financially, and many of us are serving on various committees within our local church. We also enjoy an occasional social event together.
Class President and Teachers: President is Anne North. Teacher is Dean Auten.
Place: First Floor of the Educational Building. First room on the left when coming from the Miller Building.
