DONATE YOUR OLD DIGITAL CAMERA

The Children’s Home is in need of digital cameras!  It doesn’t matter how old the digital cameras are – we are desperate and will be most happy to take anything you can donate.  (Please remember to include the cords, chargers, etc. as this type of technology requires all of that!)

Photography is a very empowering art form, and being able to take and have photographs is very important for these residents.  Just for a moment, imagine your world with no photographs…Can you?  Please contact Benita VanWinkle – 336-945-9873 or brvanwinkle@mindspring.com if you have a digital camera that you are not using and can donate.  This is a wonderful ministry – thanks for your help!

THE LOCAL CHURCH: AN ORGANISM (PART 4)

In the Epistles, the functions of a church are compared to the parts of a body. Different systems of the body, working interdependently, allow for health and strength.  The same can be said of congregational systems.  Co-operation, collaboration, and efficiency - each dependent on faith! - produce effective and fruitful results.

In this series, we have explored the church systems representing the 4 P’s - People, Programs, Place, and now Provisions.

Provisions, like the circulatory system, provide energy and sustenance to the parts of the Body.  In the bloodstream, it is the tiniest of cells which pick up the drop off provisions of oxygen and nutrients to strengthen the work of the various components of the body.  Like wise, we as members of the church, pick up and make available energizing resources which enable the components of the church to be most effective.

Our Finance Committee develops a plan each year for “resourcing” the body of our church.  The committee is charged with the responsibility to adequately provide for the needs of each part of the church.

Just like the circulatory system, the Finance Committee is dependent upon the work of each individual cell.
