CROP WALK UPDATE: Thanks to the generosity and those who participated in the
Crop Walk, over $4,500 was raised locally to fight world hunger.
SPAGHETTI SUPPER: The Relay for Life Committee of Green County will sponsor
an "all you can eat" Spaghetti Supper at the Moose Lodge in Monroe
on Monday, May 5th from 4:30-7:30 pm. A book sale will also be part of the event.
Tickets may be purchased from Jo Ann Steuri (Adults $7, Children 4-12 $4.50).
All cancer survivors (and one guest) are invited to attend free of charge. Cancer
survivors are asked to register for the event by calling Jo Ann at 608-728-2980.
NEXT SUNDAY IS PENTECOST SUNDAY. Help is celebrate the birthday of the Christian
church by wearing red.
VBS REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN!! Sign up your child for a great time of fun and
learning at this summer's VBS “Power Lab”. This year's VBS will
run from June 23-27 from 12:45 p.m.--4:30 p.m. Busing will be provided from
the elementary school to the church and lunch will be served upon their arrival.
A $5 donation would be appreciated. You may register on line at www.bwumc.org.
GIVING ENVELOPES: PLEASE!!!Please use only the 2008 giving envelopes (blue)
or the envelopes in the pews. Please do not use the pink envelopes. The number
are different, and will affect how the giving is recorded. Thank you. Joella
THE MUSTARD SEED CIRCLE will meet Saturday morning, May 10th at 9 a.m. in Room
25 at the church. We will hear a review of Max Lucado's book entitled “3:16”
which has been recommended as our study book for this year, as well as some
UMW Reading Program books shared at our April meeting. All women of the church,
members and friends, are invited to join us! Please give me a call at 897-2399...Mary

AARP DRIVER SAFETY PROGRAM: Dean Braund will be teaching an 8 hour AARP Driver
Safety Program, a classroom driver refresher course for drivers aged 50 and
older. The course explains the changes that occur in vision, hearing, and reaction
time as we age and provides useful driving safety tips for handling these changes.
There is a sign up sheet in the back of the church, or call the church office
to register. The cost of the course is $5 for AARP members, spouses and guests.
Otherwise, cost is $10. The class will be held on May 28 and 29 from 8:00 a.m.
until noon in Fellowship Hall.
BULLETIN SPONSORSHIP. There is a sign up sheet in the back of the church for
sponsoring bulletins. Plain paper bulletins are $15 and color printed bulletins
are $20.
