Brick Chapel M. E. Church was erected in 1872. A (40x60 feet) brick replaced the (31x41 feet) brick erected in 1835 to meet the needs of a growing congregation. In 1912 a vestibule and bell-tower were added and the Ladies Aid collected nearly $400 for a (44") bell that year. The brick to build this Church were made on a farm just east of the present site, being the John O'Hair farm.

Under the very capable leadership of Rev. Elihu Mason, Brick Chapel Methodist Church was erected and in 1872 was dedicated by Thomas Bowman, D. D., President of Indiana Asbury University which is now DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana. Today this rural Church in all the region stands as a lasting monument of the people of the community to the cause of the Lord Jesus Christ.

May 1953, Twelve men came to a meeting: Mr. Charles Hendrich, Mr. J. R. South, Mr. Clifford Early, Mr. Ernest O'Hair, Mr. Francis Lane, Mr. Oscar O'Hair, Mr. Walter Reeves, Mr. Glenn Flint, Mr. Herman Hendrich, Mr. Charles Rutter, Mr. William Blue, and Mr. Clarke Hendrich. The challenge was thrown down that each man pledge $100 to keep the Church open and secure a minister to preach every Sunday. $1200 was pledged on the spot. Anytime there is sacrifice there is new life. New life came to Brick Chapel Church in 1953 by the sacrificial giving of twelve men. The Chapel was re-painted and received a new organ, stained-glass windows, pulpit and a dorsal curtain from generous donations.

2 Chronicles 7:14

If my people, who are called by my name,

will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked way,

 then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

"To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that
which is planted; A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down,
and a time to build up; A time to weep, and a time to laugh;
a time to mourn, and a time to dance;"
