SIFAT Mission Trip

As many of our church family are aware, 11 youth members will be traveling to Alabama late July for mission trip at SIFAT. SIFAT is an organization that trains people for service here and abroad. We hope, pray, and expect that when our youth return from this trip, they will be equipped disciples and help others in ways we could have only dreamed of. We would like to thank everyone who has purchased “stockholder” shares to help us defray some of this trip’s costs. We will be selling these shares until July 1. When you buy a share(s) you not only support us, but you’ll also be invited to the Stockholder Banquet where you’ll have the opportunity view the trip’s slide show, hear testimonials, and enjoy a meal with our youth group. Contact Rick for more information about purchasing stocks.

WHAT IS A “TWEEN”??

What is a “tween”?? A tween is a young person in the 5th or 6th grade…beyond elementary but not quite to junior high or high school. This is an important time in a young person’s life, as they look forward to the Confirmation process and to developing their own faith. The Education Team is pleased to announce that a
new Sunday School class for tweens will begin this August. The class will meet on Sunday mornings, upstairs in the Activity Center, with special events planned on a monthly basis.
Please pray for this new ministry! We are in need of another team teacher and at least one substitute teacher. Prayerfully consider how you might be involved with this group of young people. Contact Kay Ivy or Mary Wilhelm, Education Team cochairs, if you are interested.

Junior/Senior High Sunday School (7th through 12th grade)

Rick and Brynn Ruiz (Jr. High) James and Emily Henkhaus (Sr. High) Both classes continue to meet each Sunday in the Youth Area (upstairs in the Activity Center) at 10 a.m. Please consider volunteering as a
substitute teacher in either class this summer. It’s a great opportunity to get to know the wonderful youth members of FUMC. Contact Rick Ruiz if you can help
