About the program:
The Chancel Choir has 25 members. We rehearse in the choir room on Thursday evenings from 7:00pm - 8:30pm. On Sunday morning we provide music for 2 morning worship services. We sing special music by John Rutter, John Ness Beck, Mark Hayes, George F,. Handel, Natalie Sleeth, Allen Pote and Craig Courtney. Our choir sings in a variety of styles from spirituals, to hymn-arrangements, praise songs, classical to gospel. Twice a year we present vocal cantatas for Advent and Lent. We love to sing and praise God with our voices.
In our midweek program for kids the children sing in worship once or twice a month. In addition some of our children lead the congregation in a call to worship once a month. Our children have provided special music for our Christmas Eve services.
In the spring we have presented a children's musical. This has been a fun way to get our children involved as well as members of our congregation. Prayer has been shared in powerful ways by our children during our worship times together.
Our handbell choir plays during Easter Sunday and the last Sunday during Advent. We rehearse a total of five times prior to each special service. The age of this choir spans from 13-60 years old.
