 Blue Mountain Center currently employees 4 full-time employees and 30 summer staff during the 2013 summer camp season. 

 

Now hiring Summer Camp Residential Staff! We are looking to hire 30 energetic staff members that LOVE GOD, love children, and love the outdoors! The position runs from the end of May through the end of July. If you have a heart for GOD and want to have fun working at camp, please call us at 573-546-6265.

 

 

Christina & Erik Barton - Site Directors

 

Christina Barton is originally from Hillsville, VA where she was active with the First United Methodist Church youth group. She worked her college summers at Camp Dickenson along the New River in Fries, VA where she met her husband Erik while they were counselors. Upon graduating from Radford University with a degree in Dance, she toured with the “New Dawn Singers” before teaching dance for 8 years at “In Motion Dance Center” and 5 years at Hope Community Church in Winston-Salem, NC. In 2011, she completed the certification program from Drew Theological Seminary’s “Common Ground” designed for the camp and retreat ministry of the United Methodist Church. Christina’s passions are to hike and backpack, sing, and of course dance!
 

Erik Barton grew up in Radford, VA and loves drawing, painting, animals, entertaining children and youth, running, hiking, camping, and working hard. He was active in his youth group at Central United Methodist Church and was a 25 time letterman in track & field and football at Radford High. He later competed in track at East Tennessee State University and coached track & field at RHS for 9 years. He also attended New River Community College and Radford University as well as completing the courses through Drew Theological Seminary's “Common Ground” program with his wife. He has been working as a Youth Director for over 8 years.

 

They share a combined 25 years of experience within the camp and retreat ministry and their passion is to serve GOD and to provide that little piece of HEAVEN on earth for all those who come to Blue Mountain.

 

Anna & Jon Stewart – Directors of Food Service & Maintenance

Jon & Anna have been married for 8 years, Jon began working here in 2003, Anna in 2005.  Anna & Jon have been an absolute blessing to the camp since arriving, helping to make it the beautiful place it is today!  Anna likes to read, keeping up with friends and family, and is an absolutely wonderful cook.  Jon likes to hunt, does an outstanding job all around the camp, and is an excellent carpenter.  They enjoy spending time with their children and grandchildren, and their two dogs Princess & Louie.
