The Blackfork United Methodist Church began as the Methodist Episcopal Church (M.E.).  It became the United Methodist Church when the United Brethren Churches combined with Methodist Churches throughout the United States.

Blackfork circa?

The Epworth League (Young Peoples group) was organized at the church on June 18, 1923.  A building fund was established by the board of trustees in 1962 for improvements and upkeep of the church.  The funds were obtained by donations of members, local businesses and people.  Over the years since then a new basement floor, furnace, new porch entrance door, shingles, roof, carpet, paper, paint, and new ceiling tiles have been added for the inside.  Also in recent years, some of the windows have had to be replaced.

Although over the years the congregation has gotten small, the little church is very large on the spirit of the Lord and the congregation and pastor always make everyone who wants to attend feel welcome.
