Who are the Shepherds of Hope?

“Do you truly love me?”  This last question of the risen Lord to Peter.  It was answered,  “Lord, you know I do”.

Christ then gave this commission to all that agree with Peter’s answer.  “Then feed my sheep”.

This is the commission and ministry of the Shepherds of Hope.  Simple and as unique as the individual who accepts Christ’s words as a personal responsibility.  No special talent, no special personality type, no special experiences or training; just the willingness to care.

Guidelines for the Shepherds

Our congregation is divided into flocks and assigned a Shepherd.  Each Shepherd carries out their ministry as his or her unique talents dictate. Aside from holding their flocks in their regular prayer life, they interface with their flock as their personal style dictates.  Some of the possibilities are:  1] keeping their flock advised of church related material, 2] spending time with them on a Sunday  3] keeping in contact with them, 4] singling out a family a month for special treatment. 5] Letting our flocks know we are there for them if we can be of help. 6] Working with our pastor for the special needs of those who call Hope their church home.  Ours is a ministry of prayer, presence, connection, and kindness.

The Shepherds are growing into this mission and we are praying that you will join us.  We need you, Hope needs you, the Kingdom of God needs those who try to live this commission.  Please prayerfully consider this ministry and contact one of us
