Pastor's Weekly Message Nov 2, 2009 Webmaster's stewardship story here
Yesterday at worship, we kicked off our annual Stewardship Campaign at Hope UMC. If you were not in worship yesterday, your financial commitment card will be mailed to you. Please review the stewardship material, and prayerfully consider your financial gift to Hope UMC for the coming year.
We encourage percentage giving. If you are giving below 3% of your income, please consider a gift this year of 3%. If you are already at 3 percent or higher, please consider working towards a tithe, or 10% of your income as an act of faith. Hope UMC is still not making its budget. With all of us doing our part, we can exceed our budget needs in 2010. Please give in response to God’s blessings in your lives. God is good. Let us respond to God’s goodness with generous hearts.
I will be preaching a stewardship sermon series the next three weeks during our Stewardship Campaign. Next Sunday’s text is II Kings 4: 1-7,
and the sermon is titled, “Debt-Free.” Learn why it is important to live debt-free, and learn some helpful hints that will enable you to do that.
The Bible teaches us to be positioned in a financially-positive way so that we can be a blessing to others.
This Saturday the United Methodist Women will host their annual Craft Bazaar and Harvest Lunch from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Come out and support
this important fund-raiser for our UMW.
