Pastor's Weekly Message Nov 9, 2009  Webmaster's stewardship story here

Dear Members and Friends of Hope UMC,

Last Sunday in worship was the third week in our month-long stewardship emphasis. Carol Mathew was the lay person who gave us our stewardship moment, and she talked about why it is important to her to support her church financially. Next Sunday we will conclude our Stewardship Drive, and we encourage you to be in church to celebrate with us what God is doing through the mission and ministry of Hope UMC.

Next Sunday has been designated “Celebration Sunday.” We will celebrate God’s blessings, celebrate Holy Communion, celebrate the completion of our annual Stewardship Drive, and join together to celebrate in a POTLUCK DINNER after 2nd worship service. All the children’s choirs will sing as well, so it will be a great celebration the life of our church. There will also be a special announcement made during worship that you will not want to miss, so please make every effort to be in
worship next Sunday!

As we conclude our Stewardship Drive this year, I want to personally thank each and every one of you for your generous gifts to Hope UMC. We could not exist without your financial gifts. Thank you, also, to all those who have turned in their pledge cards for 2010. If you have not turned in your card yet, please do so by next Sunday. We need everyone to be part of our Stewardship Drive to be everything God wants us to be as a church.

Our Annual Church Conference is next Sunday, November 22nd , at 7:00 p.m._ All members of the church are encouraged to attend. This is our annual church meeting where we elect church officers, adopt a church budget, and make decisions that affect church life. Please plan to attend.

Also, our Thanksgiving Eve Service is Wednesday, November 25th at 7:00 p.m. at Shiloh UMC. This is our first year worshipping with Shiloh, and I hope you will make the effort to attend. Shiloh will host a Pie & Coffee Fellowship Time after our worship together.

See you in worship,

Pastor Gary
