History of Beulah UMC

Beulah Church was organized by a few families in 1882.  Services were in Rockdale School, which was located near Thompson Farm, now known as Draeger farm.  In 1891 Mr. Alex C.B. Nichols donated three acres of land for the church and some lumber that went into the building.  The church property today has approximately 9 acres located at the intersection of French Road and Kimberlin Heights Road.
On the day of dedication there were twenty-five members.  The deed was registered at the courthouse in 1891.  The church was built between 1892 and 1894.  Rev. Daily was the first pastor.  Beulah was on a four point charge consisting of New Salem, Hendrons, Westley Ann and Beulah.  Beulah became a station church in June of 1982.

Mr. A.G. French had expressed a wish that the church be named "Beulah" which means "promise".  "Beulah Land" was also a popular hymn at the time.
The parsonage was built in 1946.  An educational building was added in 1954.  A major remodeling of the church was completed in 1982 including central heat and air and new Sunday School rooms.  The family Life Center was completed in 1987.
Beulah United Methodist Church expects to move into the 21st century as a dynamic, growing church.  We especially want to meet the needs and minister to children, Youth, and young adults.  God has blessed us and will continue to bless us as we remain faithful to the Lord Jesus Christ.
