Minister’s Biography

A native of Lancaster, SC, Rev. Sistare grew up in First United Methodist Church where he was active in the church's choirs and youth ministry.  A 1975 graduate of ErskineCollege, Rev. Sistare worked for a time with the Department of Social Services before attending Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary in Columbia, SC.  Ordained an Elder in Full Connection in 1984 and has served churches in the South Carolina Conference since receiving his License to Preach in 1978.  Rev. Sistare has served the South Carolina Conference on the Council on Youth Ministries, the Council on Ministries with Families, and the Conference Native American Committee.  He currently directs the Salkehatchie Summer Service Native American Camp.  He wed Anna Delores Yelton of Clinton, SC in December of 1977.  They have two children, David and Jessica.  His interests are music, ancient history, and classic movies.
