Boy Scout Troop 324 has been an important part of Bethel since 1953, producing 61 Eagle Scouts and more on the way. There are currently 23 Scouts registered with the troop. Trained adult Leaders provide the support needed to ensure Troop 324’s success. TUN is a priority at T324 and every outing and event is planned for maximum fun while advancing in rank. The troop has a year-round program, providing Scouts the opportunity to advance to the rank of Eagle by age 14 is they attend meetings and summer camps and are willing to do the work required. The troop is enjoying meeting in the new HUT which recently replaced our old Scout Hut.

T324 is active in The Order of the Arrow, Scouting’s Honor Society, with a long history of service to others. Whatever the season you’ll find Troop 324 in high gear!

Troop 324 has registered five new Scouts since January 2009, and they have achieved ranks of Scout, Tenderfoot, and Second Class. Four boys attended NYLT (National Youth Leadership Training) in July and one attended NOAC (National Order of the Arrow Conference) in Indiana. The Scouts attended two summer camps in 2009, Camp Barstow and Camp Raven Knob. Six boys attended Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico in June, where they backpacked over 50 miles in ten days! These boys also hiked 10 miles on the Palmetto Trail, Foothills Trail and at Harbison State Forest. Some of their monthly campouts have included a ski trip, rock mining in North Carolina, campout at a ranch where they earned the Horseback riding merit badge, shotgun and rifle skills at Indigo Hunt Club, whitewater rafting on the Edisto river, campouts at James Island State Park and Kings Mountain State Park. The troop also continues its service to the community by participating in the Federation of the Blind’s BBQ ticket sales, and the annual Honda Veteran’s Ride.
