(All Sunday School classes are held from 9:45 - 10:45 a.m. and are located in the Education Building.  A greeter is on hand to welcome and direct visitors.)

 

Joy Class

The Joy Class, led by a team of rotating teachers, focuses on Bible studies and other topics in a lecture format.  This traditional approach appeals to mature adults.

 

Holroyd Class

The Holroyd Class also is led by rotating teachers. Topics include scripture studies, church history and theology, as well as contemporary issues.  Lectures and lively discussions are designed to appeal to both mature and younger adults.

 

New Life Class

The New Life Class has a relaxed discussion format led by rotating teachers.  Various topics, including Bible studies, focus on the interests of young and middle age adults.

 

Young Adult Class

This class is designed to meet the needs of the young adults at Bethel and examines contemporary issues from a Christian perspective.

 

A staff nursery attendant is provided for the Sunday School hour and the worship service.

Vacation Bible School

VBS is a week-long program of evening classes held each summer for every age level.   Children's classes include crafts and music.  Clowns, mimes, puppets, magic acts, skits and parades make the sessions memorable.  A light supper is provided each evening.

Neighborhood Groups meet monthly in members’ homes on the third Sunday night of each month, October-May.  One group meets for breakfast in a restaurant on the third Saturday.  These caring/sharing groups focus on the Bible's meaning for life.

 

Classes on Methodism are taught several times throughout the year by the pastor.  This study is open to church visitors, new members, or anyone interested in the history of Methodism and the structure and beliefs of the United Methodist Church. 

 

Confirmation Classes are open to youth 11 years old and older as a preparation for becoming confirmed members of the United Methodist Church.  The classes, taught by the pastor and the youth education director, trace the history of Christianity and of Methodism  and focus on Christian principles and what it means to become a full member of the Church.

 

The Upper Room, a bi-monthly devotional booklet, is provided by the church and available in the church narthex.
