YOUTH NEWS!!

We have been involved in missions!!! *** Sunday, February 4th Super Bowl Party Please bring a drink or snack and join in the fun. Our party will be held at the home of Marty and Dana Burkhart Our Youth have been very active and are having fun and getting closer to God and each other! We want to SAY A BIG AND LOVING “THANK YOU” TO ALL THE PARENTS WHO HELP US AND SUPPORT US! More great stuff is being planned. Come out and hang with us on Sunday afternoons at 4 o’clock!

We have several open dates for alter flowers for the 2007 year. If you would like to supply flowers in honor of or in memory of a special loved one please contact Donna Mickle at 798-2549.

UNITED METHODIST WOMEN

The UMW met January 16, 2007. We have a few upcoming events for you to be aware of.

Upcoming events for you to be aware of:

Chicken Pie Sale – Orders are now being taken. We will be passing sign-up sheets. If you don’t have the opportunity to see one of the sign-up sheets, call Arlene Crane at 798-2995 to place your orders. Orders are due in by February 18th. We will meet in Bethany’s kitchen at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, February 23rd and Saturday, February 24th to make the pies. You do not have to attend the UMW meetings to participate in this project….we can always use another hand in the kitchen! We’d welcome even an hour or two of your time! Come join us for fun and fellowship!!

Prayer Shawls – These are handmade, crocheted or knitted, and prayed over, then blessed in a special service. They are then given to people and/or families who are going through a tragedy, to be used as a physical piece of comfort. The UMW will provide the yarn for this project. All we need is YOU!!! Martha Tussey and others will meet at Bethany (in the office building) on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month to teach you how to make these shawls. They will be there from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. You can drop in anytime during these hours to get started. Even if you don’t know how to crochet or knit, you can learn! Or just come for the fellowship and prayer time. You could even provide refreshments for these hard-working ladies! Please prayerfully consider becoming a part of this meaningful project. Call Martha Tussey at 746-5207 if you have any questions. We look forward to seeing you there!

Our next meeting will be Tuesday, February 23rd at 7:00. Amy Tysinger’s committee is in charge of our program and refreshments will be provided by Donna Mickle and Arlene Crane.

UNITED METHODIST MEN
Our next Men's meeting will be held Thursday, February 1st, at 7pm. If you are interested in joining UMM, we meet the first Thursday of each month at 7:00. Our meetings are held in the fellowship hall and dinner is served at 7:00 followed by the business meeting. Come out and join us
