The Amelia Willey Endowment Fund Berwick United Methodist Church

portrait of Amelia Willey The Christian Education Committee is pleased to announce the establishment of The Amelia Willey Endowment Fund.

Amelia Willey (1910-2003) (obituary) enjoyed her membership with the Berwick United Methodist Church for nearly 80 years, having known 18 pastors during her membership, and outliving 13 of them! She was a cherished leader of many of our educational activities. Her dedication to our Sunday School, Bible Study, and many small-group sessions was highly regarded, and she was an essential element to their success. The Amelia Willey Endowment Fund is Berwick United Methodist Church's tribute to her life. The Christian Education Committee established this fund at the request of many church members who expressed the desire for creation of a permanent memorial to celebrate the life of Amelia Willey.

About the Fund

Donations to the fund are placed in a high-yield account. The interest earned by the fund will then be made available to fund various Christian Education activities, including but not limited to camperships (scholarships to help youth attend camp), Sunday School and Bible Study curriculum and supplies. Only the interest earned by the fund will be used, thus ensuring a perpetual funding source. Additional donations to the fund will be placed in the principal, thus increasing the interest earned, and expanding the ministry of the fund.
