Vacation Bible School

BEACH PARTY VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL is in full swing!  There is a light supper served each evening at 5:30 PM followed by classes, crafts, science discoveries and music.  Classes are available for adults as well as children.   We had approximately 40 in attendance our first evening.

Below are pictures and a report from VBS 2007.

Vacation Bible School this year had approximately 56 children registered and attending each evening during the week of July 30 through August 3. Classes and activities were offered for all ages.

Rick Thompson was in charge of the science lab. I’m not sure who had more fun, Rick or the children, however, I heard good reports from both parties!

Jeanne Thompson was in charge of Story time. She had Curtis VanSandt, Alaina Seel, Jessica Drezinski, and Fred West helping with the set and acting out Bible stories.

Tiffany Gustin was in charge of crafts and as I walked past on day one I saw some beautiful hot air balloons. Our VBS music this year was wonderful and children of all ages enjoyed singing and performing the songs on the final day of VBS.

In addition to music, crafts, story time, and the science lab a meal was provided each evening for everyone, and the children enjoyed recreational activities and snacks.

Many, many people were involved in making Vacation Bible possible. It was a joint effort of the Alliance of Churches (First Presbyterian Church-this year’s leader, First Christian Church, Community of Christ, and First United Methodist) its members and friends. Without YOUR help Vacation Bible School would not be possible.  Thank you for all the hard work you put into this wonderful community ministry!

This year’s VBS mission project was to raise money and supplies for Loaves and Fishes food bank. Their goal was $300 and 300 pounds of food. They surpassed their goal by receiving $429.27 and 334 pounds of food. Way to go!
