Ministries:
1) One-with-One Spiritual Guidance
Our pastor offers a spiritual guidance to every one who aspires to deepen his or her spirituality. It is not 'One-to-One' or 'One-on-One' but 'One-with-One' guidance.
In other words, the pastor intends to share each other¡¯s experiences for mutual spiritual growth. The pastor meets each one personally, once a week, for a necessary period of time.
Non-church members are welcome to this program. Please call the pastor at 732- 681-1385.
2) Prayer Chain
We believe in the power of prayer. That is why we hold a prayer chain through which we share prayer concerns of our church family members and friends, and bring their needs to God.
It is not just for our church members. We welcome any request from any one for this ministry. Call the office and leave your name and prayer concerns.
We will keep them confidential and our prayer team will call your name every day.
3) Food Pantry
The Greater Belmar Council of Churches (an ecumenical body of churches of Belmar) has run the Food Pantry for many years. It is a ministry that binds most of the churches together.
Our church has set apart three rooms for this ministry and taken the major role in keeping the ministry beneficial to the needy. Churches as well as other organizations regularly donate non-perishable food to the Pantry.
The Food Pantry is open from 10:00 to 12:00 a.m. on Mondays and Thursdays.
4) Coin Drive for the Needy
Now that the church has served the community for a long time, people in need of urgent economic help usually expect to find hope from the church. There have always been skeptical views about helping them, but we believe it is one of our duties.
Based on Leviticus 19:9 ("When you reap the harvest of your land, do not reap to the very edges of your field or gather the gleanings of your harvest."), each member is encouraged to collect their coins during the weekdays and to bring them to the church.
This money has been used only for helping the urgent needs of the people.
5) Latino Mission
Our church has offered, free-of-charge, English as A Second Language Class for Spanish-speaking people in this town. This program opened our eyes to the pressing needs for a Latino Mission.
The Latinos are the most rapidly growing population in this area, but there has not been any mission work to them. Our church is helping the Latinos to form their own congregation by supporting this mission in various ways.
6) Mission through Communion Offering
Once a month, we celebrate Holy Communion and give a communion offering as a token of appreciation of God¡¯s grace through Jesus Christ.
We send this communion offering to various mission organizations such as Council on Alcohol/Drug Education, Christian Dental Mission, Coastal Habitat for Humanity, One Great Hour of Sharing, UM Homes, Ranch Hope, Teamwork Associates Ministry in Jamaica, Teen Challenge, Kingdom Builders, and Neighborhood Center (Camden).
7) Nutrition Program
InterFaith Neighbors runs the Nutrition Program in our church from Monday to Friday. This program supplies on average 100 meals everyday to the shut-ins or to the elderly. Our church is involved in this ministry in many ways.
