(((((( BCUMC Organizations ))))))

MYF (Youth Group): If you are in grades 6 through 12, you may join MYF.  We meet (usually) twice a month, the second and fourth Sundays.  We participate in the Feast of the Hunter's Moon each fall.  We sponsor a road clean-up four times a year (N 750 E).  We are responsible for Youth Sunday (2nd Sunday in February).  We sponsor the Sr. Citizens Christmas party each December.  Our youth are very active in many aspects of the church.

PRAYER CHAIN:  We believe in the power of prayer and are committed to praying for the requests we receive.  There is always room for another link in our chain!

Organizations of the church you may wish to join and their goals/purpose:

LADIES MISSIONARY SOCIETY: We are one of the oldest organizations associated with Buck Creek United Methodist Church.  We collect and trim cancelled postage stamps and send them to the Marion Mission storehouse.  (They sell the stamps and use the money to pay the cost of shipping needed clothing, shoes, etc, to Africa.)  We send out cheer and birthday cards.  For the Christmas season, we collect and deliver socks for the UM Lebanon Children's Home.  We meet 4 times a year:  February, May, September and November, on the third Monday, 6:30pm, for supper, business, devotions and study.  An invitation is extended to all the ladies of the church and community to join us.

EUCHRE: We play for fun and fellowship. If you are a beginning player, we'll help you learn!  We meet the second Saturday of every month from 6-9pm.  Bring snacks to share.

PRAISE TEAM:  The Praise Team is dedicated in leading the congregation in praising God in song each Sunday morning, along with musical accompaniment, joined by the Choir.

WOMEN'S BIBLE STUDY:

NEWSLETTER STAFF:  The goal of the newsletter is to keep the church informed of happenings in and around the church, as well as minister to others who are on the mailing list and those who might pick up a blank, unaddressed newsletter at the church, Buck Creek Pizza, or Buck Creek Elevator.  Sometimes this is the only "church" some folks receive.

MISSIONS TEAM: An outreach to the world at large.  Our goal is to  encourage each other and the congregation to be in mission by actively sharing Christ through  prayer, gifts, talents, and service.  Being in mission can include participating in prayer chains, collecting soup labels, giving Christmas gifts, helping with camp work-days, sewing YES kits, etc.  Missions is an on-going process of reaching out to help others in the name of Christ.  We meet in the even numbered months, on the second Monday at 7pm.
