Our church will have (6) members participating in the upcoming KAIROS prison ministry walk in September at the Ruben Torres Unit in Hondo. This will be the 18th walk at the Hondo unit. We are very excited about the opportunity to join in ministry again with other churches to minister to the "brothers in white."

Part of the KAIROS weekend is to offer symbols of Christian love. One avenue for that is the use of cookies. Yes, cookies. You'd be surprised what the thought of a homemade cookie can do for someone. The cookies are used in several ways both for participants on a walk and, at one point, for everyone at the facility. In all, team members must produce 3,000 dozen cookies.

So, we are hosting a cookie party. Anyone that would like to participate is welcome to join us on September 9th @ 1:30 in the Fellowship Hall. Even if you are unable to be there that day you may bake your own cookies (there are restrictions; so, please inquire). This is a wonderful chance for anyone to learn more about the KAIROS prison ministry.
