Worship Services - Sunday 10:30am
During our services, which start at 10:30am every Sunday morning throughout the year, we creatively explore Biblical themes through drama, art and music. Most Sundays, the Scripture readings are taken from the New Revised
Common Lectionary, uniting us with fellow believers in many branches of the church throughout the world.
Sermons Read some of Dr. Ed Deyton's
sermons from the past year.
Communion We have Communion
on the first Sunday of the month.
Children Children four and older typically stay for the first twenty minutes of the service with their families until the Junior Sermon starts. The children then go to the front of church and sit in a group with our pastor, Dr. Ed Deyton, for this short talk. At the end of the talk, the teachers escort the children to their religious education classes. Children serve as acolytes and open the service by carrying a light to our altar candles.
We can provide nursery care for children under four, just speak with an usher when you arrive for the service.
Members get involved Each Sunday, members of our congregation participate in our service, as Lay Readers, by reading a First Scripture and Gospel Lesson. Members also participate as ushers, greeters, and by bringing food in for Fellowship. Come join us downstairs in Shaw Hall for Fellowship at approximately 11:30am!
Handicap Accessible Our church is fully accessible. We have handicapped parking and building access, wheelchair seating, and an elevator. We also have large print bulletins and hearing assists.
Music
Senior Choir
The Senior Choir is made up of dedicated singers who meet weekly with Bryan Bishop, Director of Music, to rehearse an eclectic mix of music for the weekly worship service. Choir practice is on Wednesday nights from 7:30-9:00pm. The choir performs an anthem most Sundays, chosen from the classical, gospel, folk and Christian contemporary genres; and assists in leading the congregation through the service. Choir members highlight the service with solo work as well.
Junior Choir
The Junior Choir, directed by Noni Yount, is open to all children, kindergarten age and up. Rehearsals are on Sunday mornings immediately after church for approximately 20 minutes. The children sing during the worship service at least once a month and during special seasons of the year, such as Advent, Christmas, Lent and Easter.
