Scholarship Program for Austin District Youth

The Austin District United Methodist Men would like to announce a scholarship program for Austin District youth. The program is designed to give financial aid to youth seeking to attend civic youth-serving agencies and scouting ministries such as Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Campfire USA, 4H, and United Methodist supported youth events/activities. The applicant will need a United Methodist Man (UMM) sponsor from the church sponsoring the youth.

Please note that applicant's information is confidential and will remain so throughout the application process.

To apply for the scholarship a youth needs to fill out a Youth Scholarship Application Form. See links below.  Please download the form, fill it in and mail to

Please allow a minimum of 30 days to process the scholarship request.

Instructions for Completing the Scholarship Application
  1. Date
  2. First and last name
  3. Phone number where you can be reached in the evening
  4. Mailing address with zip code. You MUST live in the Austin District of the United Methodist Church
  5. E-mail address if you have one
  6. Include the name of the church that is sponsoring your youth group.
  7. Your church’s address with zip code
  8. What is the name and phone number of the person that is sponsoring you from the UMM group?
  9. Youth group name and type for example “Troop 48 BSA” or “Crestview UMC Youth Group”
  10. Date of Event/Activity
  11. What is the total per person charge for event/activity you are requesting a scholarship for? Scholarships awarded will be sent to the sponsoring UM Man who will in turn make funds available to you. Only UM sanctioned events/activities will be supported. All applicants would be allowed a maximum of 100% of the cost of tuition or $200.00, whichever is less.
  12. What is the scholarship going to be used for? Be sure to indicate location and dates.
  13. Briefly describe what types of activities you attend at your church and what responsibilities you have there.
  14. Briefly describe what types of activities you do with your youth group and what responsibilities you have in your group.
  15. Tell us what getting this scholarship will mean to you.
