Welcome!

Welcome to the Austin District United Methodist Men (UMM) website.  The Austin District UMM serve the men of the United Methodist churches in the Austin, Texas area.  We are part of the Southwest Texas Conference UMM and the General Commission on UMM.  Welcome!

Purpose & Mission

Join us as each discover our Biblical role as a man. 
Join us as we each look inward to our strengths. 
Join us as we each look inward to our weaknesses. 
Join us as we begin our servant leader trek. 
Join us as we each look outward to others as we seek to make disciples for Jesus Christ. 

United Methodist Men has set out on a new venture to discover and meet the needs of Christian Men in today's hostile world.  The Austin District of the United Methodist Men seeks to be a resource for the local church men's groups as they set out on that journey.

Men seeking membership in a local UMM Fellowship shall subscribe to the "Purpose" of the UMM and to these personal objectives:

• Engage daily in Bible study and prayer
• Bear witness to Christ's way in daily work and in all personal contacts through words and actions
• Engage in some definite Christian service

• Quarterly District Breakfast: the next breakfast will be Saturday, November 14 at St. John's UMC.  For more information and directions, check out the News tab.
• NEW:  Austin District UMM blog. Click on the Blog link to access the blog.  More details available soon!!
• SWTX Conference UMM "Intense Ministry" Concept:  a concept that will involve men giving a significant boost to starting up a ministry at local churches. The current project is the Ministry Incubator project which helps small churches provide outreach to their community.
• Amachi:  a mentoring program for mentoring children of incarcerated parents.
• Austin Resource Center for the Homeless (ARCH):  the UMM of the Austin District support ARCH by donating clothing and working at the Center sorting and distributing clothing to homeless men. ARCH needs more volunteers and is currently needing jeans and khakis.
