Quarterly District Breakfast Meetings
The November Austin District UMM breakfast is scheduled for Saturday, November 14, 2009, and will be held at St. Johns UMC. The topic is "Big Brothers/Big Sisters" and the guest speaker is Kate O'Connell. Join us for coffee at 7:30 AM and breakfast at 8:00 AM. St. John's is located in Austin at the intersection of Burnet Rd. and 2222. For directions to St. John's, click on the directions link. For more information, view the breakfast flyer. Don't forget to bring white socks for homeless men. After the breakfast, for those interested we will be going bowling at Dart Bowl for a Big Brothers/Big Sisters fundraiser (around 10:30).
The previous Austin District Breakfast meeting was held in August and was hosted by Journey UMC in Buda. The program was titled "New Church Development and How God is Working in Our Communities". Click on the pictures link to see pictures of the event.
Upper Room Living Prayer Center
The Austin District UMM raised $603 for the Upper Room Living Prayer Center during the August quarterly breakfast meeting held at Wesley UMC. THANK YOU to all the churches, UMM groups, and individuals who donated money to help your fellow men and women in need. Also, thank you to those members who manned the phone line later that afternoon. The prayer line now averages over 30,000 calls per month.
