Announcements: (week of 4/7/08)

· Lawn Mowing Volunteers—A sign up sheet is in the library for volunteers to mow the church lawn.  Please mow on the Friday or Saturday before the Sunday you are scheduled.  Also you will need to provide your own lawn mower.  Sidewalks and steps need to be clear of grass clippings.  Please check the church calendar for weddings and other activities that may be scheduled.  In dry conditions, the lawn may need to be watered instead of mowed.

· Hospitality Circle Needs—The Hospitality Circle is collecting monetary donations to buy the college students gift certificates for food.  This is for finals week, so please have your donations to the church by April 20th.  Make checks payable to the church and designate them for "College Gift Cards" and place in the offering plate.  The Circle will also be taking trays of cookies and muffins to the schools to celebrate Education Week and to the Hospital for Nurses' Week.  The congregation is asked to bring one dozen of your best recipe to the church Sunday, May 4th.  Circle members will assemble the trays at 1:00 that afternoon and deliver them on Monday.

· Membership Directories—You are welcome to pick up a new membership directory.  They are available in the library (they have a blue cover).  Please let the office know of any incorrect information you find.  Also, if you can help us with some addresses that we do not have, please contact the office.

· Choir Schedule—The remaining choir schedule is as follows:  Sunday, April 13th (both services), Sunday, April 20th (10:45) and Sunday, May 11 (both services.  Rehearsals will continue on the following Wednesday evenings at 7:00 pm.:  April 9 & 16 and May 7th.  Newcomers are always welcome to come.

· Lee Domann—will be with us in worship on Sunday, April 27th.  Lee , a singer-songwriter-storyteller, who is also an ordained minister, spends his life traveling from concert to concert, church to church.  Lee Domann will appear in worship at both 8:30 & 10:45 services and in an afternoon concert that is open to the public at 2:00 pm.  There are publicity posters in the library.  Please feel free to take a couple to place on bulletin boards around town.

· VIM Day at Indian Cave State Park—The ice storms of this winter have left their mark on Indian Cave State Park.  Fallen trees and branches have made the nearly 22 miles of trails in the park unusable and help is needed so that the park can be ready for summer.  Join the Missouri River District on Saturday, April 19 for this VIM Day Mission Trip.  Check-in begins at 8:00 and work on the trails will start at 9:00.  The day will end with an evening vesper service at 4:30 and a dinner provided at Nemaha UMC.  Participants are asked to bring their own lunches and work gloves.  There is a blue sign up sheet in the library for those interested in helping.

· Annual Conference Collection for UMCOR—There is a list of Sewing Kit Items and Layette Kit Items and a box for donations to the Kits inside the south door to the church.  The kits will be assembled and taken to the Nebraska Annual Conference in June where they will then be shipped to the UMCOR Depot in Louisianna.
