THE PERFECT CHURCH
ASBURY UNITED METHODIST CHURCH
149 South Main Street, Woodstown NJ 08098
(856)769-2484
If you could find the perfect church
Without one fault or smear.
For goodness sake, don’t join that church.
You’d spoil the atmosphere.
But since no perfect church exists
Where people never sin
Let’s cease looking for that church
And love the one we’re in!

ASBURY UNITED METHODIST WOMEN...
If you would like to join a United Methodist
Women Circle, please contact the circle leaders: Esther Circle leader Sue
Edwards (769-0693), first Monday morning of each month; Eve Circle leader Kathy
Kesler (769-3022), second Monday evening; or Friendship Circle leader Barbara
Bender (769-9228) third Monday evening.
All women of the church are welcome to attend
unit and circle meetings. If interested call one of the circle leaders or
Phyllis Bowman, 769-2899 or Kathy Kesler, 769-3022.
YES! WE ARE STILL COLLECTING:
Help!!! We need your used ink
jet printer
cartridges! Please help Friendship Circle as they spearhead a church-wide effort
to raise money for the Church Renovation Fund. Bring each cartridge in a Ziploc
bag and place it in the bin under the table near the mailboxes by Caroline’s
office. There will be plastic bags with the bin. The Church will earn $2.00 for
each cartridge. Recycling considerations are very important since it is stated
that it takes a cartridge 1000 years to decompose. Through this effort, they can
be re manufactured and reused. Cartridges with a print head qualify for payment.
That includes most Hewlett Packard, Lexmark, Compaq, Canon and Apple. Those
without print heads still can be recycled but without payment. That includes
mostly Epson. We welcome all types. Feel free to ask friends, neighbors and
places of employment if this "trash" can be used to help renovate our
beloved church. Thank you for your support!
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR AN OCCASIONAL "GOOD
DEED"!
At times parishioners call the church office
asking if there is someone who could drive them to keep an appointment. Many of
us are willing to do this, but it would be such a help to have a
list of those of us who are willing to be "on call" to do this good
deed for someone in need. If you are willing to volunteer to occasionally
provide transportation for a fellow Asburian , please call the
church office, 769-2484, so your name can add your name to a list.
DISCIPLE FOOD PANTRY ...
Even for me, the church mouse, Advent and Christmas time is special! This year I watched as Sue Edwards, Millie Harbison and Fran Anzaldo struggled to stack those beautiful poinsettias in just the right way to make the altar look just right. Diane Dorrell and "her crew" decorated that big tree and the window sills. (That tree is such fun! I just love to run up and down, and in and out those branches! Wonder if they’d mind if I helped then un trim it?) Jim Kates did the ladder work to hang the high garlands; what is there around here that he does not do? - makes coffee, cooks, counts money, lock doors, ushers, and…. God Bless them each one!
Things are popping up all over the place!

"Justin’s Fight For Sight"
Dear Church Family,
This has been a year full of unexpected circumstances but the one consentience
in our lives is the love and support from this amazing church family. Your
kindness, generosity and love sustained us through some very difficult times.
For every tear of sadness shed there have been tears of joy knowing we had your
love and support. Your continue prayers are a source of strength to face
tomorrow. Thank you just seems inadequate to express our appreciation.
Wishing you all a bright and
Happy New Year.
With love and gratitude.
Kaye, Dorothy and Debbie Kremer
To All of Asbury,
A great thank you to everyone at Asbury for the generous Christmas gift that was
given to the Staff members. It was
much appreciated by all.
Thanks again for your kindness.
Staff
Dear Friends,
"Your thoughtfulness means a lot to us - More than we can say - And our
warm appreciation comes with this thank-you note today."
Thank you so much for
all your kindness, cards and support we received following the loss of my
mother, Mary Hepner. But most of all we are so grateful for all the love and
prayers along this journey that you have traveled with us.
God is so
good all the time and He is smiling on Asbury United Methodist Church.
Lovingly,
Marty, Nancy, Douglas and Stephanie Varnold
Dear Members of "A Token
of Love,"
I wish to express my thanks to all who work to make Christmas Eve a great
surprise even for a 76-year-old, like me.
Yes, there really is a
Santa. I woke up to see this lovely, fluffy dog in my bed. I heard nothing, so
it must have been Santa’s Helper.
Thank you all and
thank you for the blessing.
God Bless, Love
Catherine
