Salem County Habitat Construction Update

Thank you Frank and Scott, Paul T, Leslie, Justin, and Carl, Sabrina, Dan L, Kelly, and Mike, and Jim P and the Asbury United Methodist Church for the great help of fundraising, cleanup and home construction.

ACCOMPLISHED...

Maple Rd, Pittsgrove____We continued on the roof this week, finishing the porch cap, installing all the shingles we had. A small area on the rear roof at the peak is all we need to complete the job. Then Scott and Justin went to siding the left sidewall, the vinyl up to the fascia and toping it with “J”-channel. It looks great. Inside a small crew led by Tall Paul began building walls, starting with the closet wall for the middle bedroom. After flat building it on the floor, moving the jack studs and chips around until we had it just right, we then duplicated it for the same wall on the other side in the rear bedroom. The new mark out was evident along the street, indicating temp electric is eminent and the water main trench was inspected and backfilled to the house.

Restore _____________This week Delsea scraped and painted the side door and spruced up the look of the building, pulling weeds and mulching the area, looks great! Sabrina and Kelly, Dan L and Paul C cleaned and moved furniture into the newly painted display room. The yard furniture was scrubbed within an inch of its life in the scorching sun, we now have a nice patio set to sell. Then we moved soft furniture into the display area, set up a few layouts to show off the pieces nicely. Some time was spent on the computer trying to get it to recognize the DVD drive and Dan cut the grass with our new lawn mower, again in the blistering sun.
