Outreach and Mission Projects
In the Methodist tradition, we at Asbury support a number of outreach programs. They include (click on the links for more detailed info):
Covenant Relationship Pedals for Progress Food Bank Run Against Hunger
Annual Meager Meal Biloxi 2009 - VIM SERRV
On-going Outreach Ministries
Jan-Peek Dinners
Throughout the month, several area churches donate a dinner for the one to two
dozen residents who live in this shelter. Many of these residents are
recovering addicts, awaiting housing, and making a what can be a challenging
transition into a drug-free life. Asbury serves dinner to the shelter residents
on the second Sunday of every month.
Peekskill Lunches: On the third Monday of every month, Asbury members provide a lunch of lasagna, salad, bread and dessert for the Peekskill Lunch Program, which offers daily hot lunches for the homeless and hungry population in Peekskill. We heat lasagna and make salad beginning at 9:30 a.m., leave for Peekskill at 11:15 a.m. and return around 1:00 p.m. Please speak with the Pastor (271-3150) to offer your assistance. Cortlandt Emergency Food Bank Worshipers are invited to bring non-perishable food items to be received during the Offering for Others. All food is donated to the Cortlandt Emergency Food Bank. Many members of the congregation volunteer their time and talents to ensure that the Food Bank is there for those in need. Click here for information on The Cortlandt Emergency Food Bank
