Asbury takes very
seriously its duty to go out into the world and to spread the Good
News. This mission takes many forms and depends on the various
talents possessed by our members. Here are a few of the different
ministries within our church.
United Methodist Women--The ladies of this group work all year to
prepare for their annual Christmas Bazaar in the fall. The proceeds
from the bazaar support missions and local projects.
Vacation Bible School--Provides an outstanding
opportunity to reach beyond the church and into the heart of children in
the community.
Music-- The Chancel Choir plays a significant role in the
worship services at Asbury. Music is integral to the expression of
reverence, praise and joy in our experience as a Christian. Other
music ministries are the Rainbow Choir for the young people and
the Bell Choir who is made up of a special group of people who
understand the special quality hand bells impart to Christian music.
Children's Ministries-- Every week Children's Church is available
during the sermon so children can learn about God while their parents are
listening to the sermon. This ministry also hosts events all year
round. This includes the Children's Christmas Program and the Bunny
Breakfast at Easter.
PointBlank Youth--Asbury youth
group consists of 6th-12th graders. Regular meetings are on Sunday
evenings from 6-7:30 p.m and Wednesday nights
from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m.
Fellowship Ministries-- Asbury offers several activities to
encourage the growth and support of the church family. Some
activities included are the annual yard sale, golf league, softball
league, annual yard sale and annual church picnic.
Missions Ministries-- For nearly a decade members of Asbury have
been actively participating in various missions including-- the Ida
Spence Mission and Aldersgate.
