Prayer Chain
Many of our members and friends are experiencing health issues this summer. The church does have a prayer chain for anyone in need of prayers. Call Paster Don at the church (347-8336) or Phyllis Hay (347-8626) and they will implement the chain.

And his great love for U is the reason He died.
It even takes U to spell crUcified.
Isn’t it thrilling and splendidly grand
He rose from the dead, with U in his plan.
The stone split away, the gold trUmpet blew
And this word resUrrection is spelled with a U.
When JesUs left earth at His upward ascension,
He felt there was one thing to mention.
Go into the world and tell them it’s true
That I love them all. Just like I love U. (con’d next month)

Parsonage Update and
Funds Request
Many unexpected and unplanned updates were made to
to parsonage prior to Pastor Don and Ellie Foster’s move, and
after their arrival, the carpet had to be replaced.
Last Wednesday (July 20), the air conditioner/furnace unit
stopped functioning. This is the original unit that was installed when the parsonage was built in the early 1970’s. After 2 air conditioner repairmen examined the unit, it was determined that it could not be repaired. The Arma Administrative Board met in a special meeting and authorized the Trustees to pursue a new unit. That unit has been installed at the cost of $2500.
All contributions to cover these unplanned expenses will be
appreciated. Contributions can be mailed to the church at:
P. O. Box 489, Arma, KS 66712.
The Administrative
Board thanks all of those who donated time and materials for the update of the
parsonage.
ARMA/MULBERRY/PITTSBURG GRACE
AUGUST 2005 NEWSLETTER
IN APPRECIATION
During the 1930’s, 250 men were holding the ropes to a dirigible (an airship similar to a blimp) to keep it from floating away. Suddenly, a gust of wind caught one end of the dirigible, lifting it high off the ground.
Some on the men immediately let go of their ropes and fell safely to the ground. Others panicked, clinging firmly to the end of their ropes as the nose of the dirigible arose to greater heights. Several men who couldn’t keep holding on fell and were seriously injured. One man, however, continued to dangle high in the air for 45 minutes until he was rescued. Reporters later asked him how he was able to hold on to the rope for son long. “I didn’t hold on to the rope,” he replied, “I just tied it aorund my waist, and the rope held on to me.”
That is the story of the curch. We serve God by giving our labor and our gifts and we do so gladly because we believe in God’s words. But the truth is that it is not we who are holding on to God. Instead, it is God who is holding on to us. It is God who will not let us fail in our mission to deliver the good news to everyone we encounter.
I want you to know how much I appreciate you. You have odne so much for me and Ellie (by helping us move in, then back out of the parsonage, and in again, cleaning, paying for the improvements, giving food and drink, etc.). Still, it is comforing to know that the church is ultimately not dependent on human efforts -- either lay or clergy. The church is of God.
Paster Don Foster
