Statement of Purpose

The Purpose of Allison Park: Epworth United Methodist Church is 5-fold:

• To represent Christ in the world.
• To provide a place and proper environment to worship God and to learn to be a disciple of Jesus Christ.
• To be a community intentionally gathered around the person of Jesus Christ.
• To define and attempt to meet the various needs of the congregation and community, both physical and spiritual.
• To explore what it means to be a United Methodist in today's world.

Statement of Vision

In order to fulfill our statement of purpose, Epworth Church will focus on making disciples for Jesus Christ by implementing our vision of disciple-making in 4 ways:

1. Praising God through vital worship.
2. Proclaiming Christ for the world.
3. Preparing and equipping disciples for ministry.
4. Planning now for ministry in the next century.
