McCoy Methodist Church

Our vision and mission

WHAT VISION DO WE HAVE AS TO WHO

 WE ARE CALLED TO BECOME?

An interdependent, creative and receptive faith community of adult disciples of Christ who are in the 3rd and 4th quarters of their faith journeys, seeking to be passionate for ministries that address many of the physical, psychological, social and economic issues of those who are aging while seeking to answer the spiritual questions that emerge from longer life expectancy and seeking to be open to reach out to adults in our immediate community.

 WHEN ARE WE THE CHURCH?

24/7

WHERE ARE WE TO BE THE CHURCH?

ANYWHERE AND EVERYWHERE GOD LEADS US.

WHAT ARE WE COMMITTED TO DO TO ENABLE OLDER ADULT TO HAVE EFFECTIVE MINISTRY?

…training adults to develop skills in responding to the changes and losses they are experiencing.

…provide worship experiences that support the growing needs of adults to find meaning and purpose and for the uncharted course of aging.

…provide transportation ministries to meet the needs of our growing population of members who are restricted in their driving and for those who are denied driving privileges.

…provide ministries of care-giving and spiritual nurture for our home-based members.

...provide support groups and resourcing for care-givers.

HOW ARE WE SEEKINGTO DO THE WORK OF MINISTRY?

· As a body of disciples who employ their gifts and resources.

· As a body of disciples who depend upon the Holy Spirit.

· As a body of disciples who plan and implement specific ministries that meet needs discerned.

· As a body of disciples related to the United Methodist Church –

· Its tradition and Discipline.

· Through ministry teams,  convened by leadership chosen from among us.
