Orphanage for the Children of Angola
UMVIM Team Going to Angola
in Fall 2002
The group will travel September 30 - October 17, 2002 and will spend time in the capital city of Luanda before and after traveling to Malanje. While in Luanda, the group will visit with church and government leaders. They will also visit the various social centers and learn about the work of the church in providing programs for youth and children. While in Malanje, the UMVIM group will visit the ruined buildings of the mission station of Quessua. The
work project will depend on the skills of participants, but will either be
installing a roof on a high school or landscaping the grounds of the new primary
school built with "Hope for the Children of Africa" funds.
The approximate cost of the trip is $2,800 per person. Former missonaries will
travel with the group to help with the Portuguese language. Those interested may contact the group leader, Burl Kreps, at 719-637-0258 or
