Message from the Pastor…
Welcome to the Andover United
Methodist Church, a great place to meet new friends,
find opportunities for service to the community and the
world, and share good news.
It’s good news that we can be
together in a warm and loving community. It’s good news
that we can be forgiven for whatever we’ve done wrong,
and start fresh, in a place where we will not be
rejected or judged.
It’s good news that we can
spend time seriously learning about the Bible and our
faith, in a community with open hearts, open minds, and
open doors. The United Methodist Church has a long
tradition of balanced emphasis on social concern and
personal faith. It is committed to forgiveness, healing
and wholeness for all people.
Our congregation, then, can
never be focused solely on our own needs and concerns as
a church or as individuals. As we continue to learn
about the teachings of Jesus, it is clear that we have
to be a help to all the people around us who are
suffering and in need.
That duty, though, is not a
somber burden. If we approach our calling in the right
way, it can be really satisfying—and a lot of fun.
When we go home after worship services or after spending
time on our service projects, we always have smiles on
our faces.
Come join us this
week—you’ll be glad you did!
Grace
and peace,
Dan Gepford
