Welcome to Worship
at Alvord!
Sunday Morning Schedule
Fellowship Breakfast 9:30 a.m.
Church School 9:45 a.m.
Worship 10:55 a.m.
The Door is Open!
We gather each Sunday
to worship God
as members of Jesus' family.
YOU ARE WELCOME
at Alvord!
We don't care how you dress,
how old or young you are,
whether you've ever been
in a church before,
or how long it's been.
You matter to God, so...
YOU MATTER TO US,
TOO!
Come share in the love
that Jesus offers to all people.
It's a costly love, but freely given.
That love is what makes us family.
There's more than enough
to go around!
Come home...
Come worship
at Alvord

A Meditation
for
The
Journey to Bethlehem
So many miles,
so many days and hours over
dusty roads,
cold nights
weary days.
Carrying a burden
both joyous and heavy.
The time draws near!
Hurry!
We must reach David's City;
the Child can be born nowhere else!
Is there no place
for us?
Must the Son of God
greet this world
in a rude stable,
with beasts the only witnesses
to the miracle?
"Let it be with me
according to your word,"
remembered his mother.
And so Messiah came
to reign,
the Poorest of the poor,
the Jubilee declared,
cradled by the carpenter,
the Virgin,
and the manger's hay.
Gloria in excelsis
Deo!

Welcome to
Children's Worship!
A learning
experience just for our little children (ages 2-5), Children's Worship begins
following the children's sermon or Children's Choir anthem each week.
Children are led by an adult and a youth volunteer as they learn to pray,
sing, and share stories each week in our new Children's Chapel. Contact
Tracy Randall if you would like more information or wish to volunteer asa
leader.

The Sacrament of the Lord's
Supper is observed at Alvord the
first Sunday of every month, plus
Christmas Eve, Easter, and
occasional special services. We
serve using a common loaf and either individual cupsor the chalice
(large cup) into which the bread is dipped (intinction). We use unfermented
grape juice when serving the Lord's Supper.

|

We believe the Sacrament is offered to all who love the Lord
Jesus and who wish to live a new life in his forgiveness. Therefore,
his table in Alvord is open. It is not our table, it is not a United
Methodist table...it is Jesus' table, and he is the host of the Supper.
Jesus himself welcomes you. Expect your Lord to be with you in the
ways you need him most as we celebrate his supper together. Children
in Children's Worship will be led to the Sanctuary in time to join their
families for the Sacrament.
