The fall, 2006 Mission Team was asked if they would be able to put a roof on a home. We did not have the time or resources to take on that job. Instead, the team committed $1,000 towards materials for the roof. The case manager was thrilled and told us she was sure they would be able to get someone to finish the job. The following is a letter from the case manager and pictures showing the completed project.
Dear Rev Jeff and Greenwood UMC Members,
My name is Theresa Beua and I am the case manager for Gayle and Kirk Ladner. This family was the recipient of your very generous donation of $1000 toward the materials for their roof.
This donation was the jump start we needed to get the process going in their recovery because they were at a stand-still for so long.
The roof was finally finished about a week ago and this has not only turned the Ladners frown into smiles, but also turned their despair into renewed hope! They now see an end to this long process of recovery.
I have included a few before and after pictures for you to actually see what a wonderful job was done with your help and generosity.
I was so amazed at your willingness to give without even knowing the family what a wonderful example of faith!
May your faith in action continue to bless those in need.
Thank you,
Theresa
