Christian Education at Aldersgate
The Aldersgate Christian Education Committee operates under the principle
that we are called by Jesus to be, and make, effective disciples.
In response to Jesus' call we seek to achieve the following vision
for our Sunday School:
"In all our Sunday School programs we instruct
people of all ages, races, and cultures to be effective disciples of Jesus".
One way we have worked to realize this vision is by having Sunday
School programs throughout the year; by offering a modified curriculum
during the Summer we have kept our program active and well attended.
Aldersgate has always offered programs for all ages.
On Sunday mornings at 9:00am we have group studies for Nursery
school age children through adult Bible study. We have over
100 people involved in our Sunday morning education programs.
During the week we have several adult studies as well.
Our Educational Committee has been working with programs to better
integrate our worship experience and our youth educational
programs.
Knowing that there are many ways to communicate the scripture message
we have a Christian Craft time for the younger students at the
10:30am hour, which is
based on the Sunday School lesson (or theme). We hope through a
multi-educational approach we can provide a fuller picture of the
scripture lesson.
The Christian Education Committee also plans to continue our traditional family
Advent craft and Lent dinner fellowship events. These one evening fellowship
and educational programs are well attended by our children and their families.
