Who We Are
Aldersgate is a member of the Raritan
Valley District of the Greater
New Jersey Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church (GNJUMC).

We are a church of about 400 members, drawn from the diverse suburban
community of East Brunswick and the surrounding area.
In the early 1960's East Brunswick was growing and changing character,
changing from a rural township into a vibrant and growing suburban area.
Over forty years ago, in 1963, the Milltown Methodist Church fostered the
establishment of Aldersgate to serve the new East Brunswick community.
In those 40 years, Aldersgate has developed under the leadership of
6 pastors, each of whom has provided their own timely and unique guidance
and support to the congregation. To see some glimpses from those

The original Church Building was completed in 1965,
and this year we will be celebrating 40 Years at this
location.
In 1987, Aldersgate expanded the original church building to include
a new wing for Christian education and other church activities. At the
same time, the
Gateway Christian Nursery School
which serves the community well to this day, was established.
