Ministry Through MissionAldersgate’s mission is to make disciples for Jesus Christ.Aldersgate’s mission efforts allow us to provide care for God’s people in our community and the world. Local Missions Local MissionsFood ShareBegan in 1995, Food Share provides food to 20 needy families in the area each
month. Food Share recipients are coordinated with the help of Senior Adult
Services, as well as local referrals. Typically on the last Saturday of each month, Aldersgate's Food Share
volunteers gather at 8:30 AM to divide food into grocery boxes for 20 different families.
Food is then delivered to the families in need making this a very personal
mission. This program is funded by cash and canned good donations from
members. For about $20 per family per month, we feed the hungry right where we live
and we meet the people we're helping as we deliver food to their doors. Angel TreeOnce a year since 1996, we work with a family or 2 in need of some extra assistance during the holidays. Food, Christmas trees and gifts are all provided to these families due to the generosity of AUMC's members. For information please contact the coordinator Debbie Fast at 972-492-9393 or debbie.fast@aldersgatecarrollton.org . Amigos DaysEvery April the North Texas Annual Conference sponsors Amigos Days. Aldersgate receives an assignment to help a particular family each year, usually through much-needed home repairs. Working together with the conference, partner churches in the area, and the City of Dallas, we provide comfort and security to those who may have a home, but little or no means to take care of it due to disability, poverty, or both.Habitat for HumanityAldersgate supports Habitat for Humanity primarily through working on Second Saturdays each month. Any adult is welcome to participate, and Habitat offers a short orientation session monthly to help you find a specific way to get involved.

These weekends are an extremely powerful experience for all there, the Holy Spirit touches the hearts of 42 men, giving them new hope for the future. There is a great deal involved in putting on one of these weekends, and you can be part of this tremendous ministry without having to step through the prison gate. There is a need of financial help, placemats to put out at each meal, cookies to serve to the prisoners, wall posters to encourage the men in being open to God’s love through the weekend and prayer. The contact person is Tom Brulet tbrulet45@verizon.net.Christian Community Action (CCA)CCA is based in Lewisville and operates a food pantry and thrift shop. Donations are always welcome, and several groups from Aldersgate help organize and stock the food pantry shelves each year.Global Missions![]() Crop WalkMake a difference in our community and the world- Walk or Sponsor a walker! Our gifts to UMCOR provide aid throughout the world, whether they take the form of flood buckets for cleanup in Central Texas or checks written to assist whatever area of the nation or world needs help at the time. Through UMCOR’s presence, we share the love and care of God with our global community.Conference ApportionmentsThe apportionments Aldersgate pays to the North Texas Annual Conference each year support the ministries carried out through our denomination. By supporting the administrative network of the United Methodist Church, we ensure that 100% of any special offerings go directly to the need at hand. |
