Welcome from the Community at Aldersgate

Aldersgate United Methodist Church was formed in 1955 because the expanded area of Chapel Hill created a need for a community centered church in addition to the Methodist presence downtown.

Lay participation has been central in the life of Aldersgate with the understanding that "we are the Church." We are committed to growing together in our love for God, our service to the community, and in our fellowship with one another.

Worship at Aldersgate has had at its heart the Word of God expressed through inspiring, Scripture-based preaching and music.

Aldersgate reaches out to the surrounding community of Chapel Hill and beyond through its various groups such as the Church Council, Evangelism Committee, United Methodist Women, and Missions and Outreach Committee.

Aldersgate ministers to its members through Bible studies, pastoral counseling, and fellowship groups, and truly being a "family" in times of need!
