Aldersgate United Methodist Church has a unique Drama Ministry, using theatrical productions to share His messages with the public.

We believe that drama is one of the most powerful communication tools God created. After all, it is all around us — life is drama. God's Word, the Bible, is filled with drama, both visual and mental.

Worship is drama in its purest sense… actions and attitudes. We are not speaking of entertainment here — we are speaking of movement, thought, dialogue, sound, light, and response all geared toward leading an individual into the presence of God where they can genuinely worship and glorify Him. We enjoy using the many different dramatic mediums to enhance and inspire the worship experience.

Occasionally, various pieces will be performed for regular and contemporary worship services to illustrate scripture or relate other messages. For special occasions such as Christmas and Easter, full length dramas may be performed for the community to draw more people into the Aldersgate Church community.

This ministry allows you to teach important moral lessons while sharing your talents in service to the church. Your talents may include acting as well as singing, dancing, or playing a musical instrument. Also needed are production staff, including stage managing, publicity, costumes, makeup, lighting, and sound and set design.

The Drama Ministry needs many volunteers to make things run smoothly. Whether you are interested in performing or helping out behind the scenes, everyone is welcome! Try something new, rekindle an old passion, or tap into a skill you never thought others would appreciate! It is an excellent way to meet people, make new friends, and please your Father in Heaven!
