Aldersgate United Methodist Church Friday, April 19, 2002

Dear brothers and sisters at Aldersgate,

We bring you greetings from Nicaragua, a beautiful country of lakes and volcanoes, and from Managua, the home of your sister church. We pray that God continues to bless your lives and fill your ministries with peace and love.

We have received information that our pastor and friend, Gary Shaw, will be moving and that he will be serving God and the church as a superintendent. Sometimes when these things happen there is a sense of melancholy, we feel your sadness and cry with you because we love him too. We know that he will make a good "big priest" (Superintendent). We say this out of love and because we know that he had a big heart, talent and knowledge. He has shown us this because he has held hands with our poor children, helped people who don't have much to live on, and has prayed for the school and the church. We know that you have done these things too; together, Aldersgate and Gary Shaw have given so much love to us. We are thankful.

We believe that all we have and all that we have shared together, moments of happiness and sadness, have been gifts from God. We pray that God will continue to bless our Pastor Gary Shaw and also to our churches that we may live in faith like the early Church. (Acts 2:43-47)

Brothers and sisters, please continue praying for us so that we may receive the glory and life eternal. (Philippines 3:20-21)

The times that we live in foretell the coming of Christ. To the world let us be brothers and sisters in Christ.

Sincerely yours, Santos Boza Tellez
