Music & Drama
The Chancel choir and Shepherd bell choir enhance our worship experience with music and drama. The worship arts group provides opportunities for the children to periodically participate in the worship services.
CHILDREN/YOUTH CHOIRS
Youth Music
Ensemble
(for Youth Grades 6-12): Directed by Carol Prasad with Jane Vooys assisting; Meeting Thursday evening 6:45-7:30 pm; Carol will be recruiting not only singers but also instrumentalists – winds and strings in addition to guitars and drums. They will also be looking for youth interested in Sound Technology. Music will be arranged to fit the skills of the members – mostly in the “Contemporary Gospel – Praise Band” style.
Miller Bells
(Hand Bell Choir for Youth Grades 5-12 and adults interested in developing hand bell skills): Directed by Carol Prasad with Laurie Kubik assisting; Meeting Thursday Evening 6-6:45 pm.
Choristers and Angels
(Voice Choir for children Grades 2-6 and for children Ages 4-6); Directed by Carol Prasad; Assistant Director to be recruited; Meeting Tuesday afternoon and coordinated with the Worship Arts program which will meet from 4-5:30 under the leadership of Cheryl Ortolf. Emphasis will be on teaching in-tune singing and keeping a beat as well as Bible stories and Christian concepts. Activities will be game-like with lots of movement and instrument playing. WORSHIP ARTS Tuesdays, 4:00 – 5:30 p.m. Children, ages 4 through 6th grade are invited to join us as we learn different art techniques, have fun acting out different dramas, and enjoying music through singing, playing instruments and learning hand motions to songs. We will serve a small snack from 4:00 – 4:10 p.m. each week. We will divide the children into 2 different age groups: ages 4 – 1st grade and 2nd – 6th grade. All children are welcome to participate; you do not have to be a member of the church. Cheryl Ortolf will also pick your child up after school at the South Row School. Please talk to her ahead of time so you can make the proper arrangements with the school. |
