He will retire July1, 2013. The blessing for us is that he will continue to serve as a retired pastor, 20 hours each week. We are still working with the Conference on an exact job description and salary. We will let everyone know as soon as it is all decided and confirmed by the Church Council. Praise God we are not losing Warren's gifts of love and compassionate heart!
MAC Food Pantry board will be looking for a new director. We now have 18 children registered! 5 babies in the nursery with one 6 week old! Our Nursery is a hopping place at times . . . Miss Selena , Miss April, Granny Marie, and Miss Sheila are pretty busy unless its nap time then everybody catches their breath.
Miss Keri and Mr. Mike have 7 now and every 20 minutes the kids do something else! One of our older ones has begun to read! and that's exciting!
Then there is our newest classroom with Miss Cortney and she has 5 and potty training and teaching goes on throughout the day. She is great with these kids!
That leaves 1 child who is registered and will come during school breaks . . . she was with us during her Christmas Break and we really enjoyed getting to know her.
We have been having phone calls requesting information about our school.....so we are praying for more families to join us. We can have as many as 54 children but we are thankful for the families we have.
Melissa Grindle and Amanda Moseng work for us as subs. and both are great. . . I think Amanda likes babies the best!
Dave Stoltz' daughter, Brooke is an eighth grader who volunteers Monday and Wednesday nights after school for a couple of hours a night for an assignment in a class she is taking at her school.
Also, Megan McClish and Tabiatha Stockman also work as volunteers when we need them.
WE ARE WAITING FOR MORE KIDS!
We currently have an ad campaign going on through Pulse FM and WHME TV. Friday, Feb 22 between 7 and 8 a.m. I will be on the radio for the morning show.
We also have an ad in the River Park News and we are looking at a billboard on Mishawaka Ave.
We love this opportunity to share Jesus with the children.
I am working 60 to 70 hours each week so I am really busy.............but loving each and every moment. Pam

Albright Advocate
Albright Church and the MAC Food Pantry are part of a group called the Mishawaka Consortium of Social Service Groups. They have been meeting for over 18 months now. They came together to discuss the unmet needs in the community; principally, housing, transportation, utilities and food. Our discussion on meeting the needs of the homeless continues. There is a bright spot with regard to replenishing the food pantries.
We are hopeful to have all Mishawaka Businesses participate in a Food and Cash drive prior to and on the February 3, Souper Bowl Sunday. The purpose is twofold, (1) to bring in much needed cash and food; (2) to raise awareness that there are hungry adults and children in Mishawaka.
LET’S KEEP THE FOOD PANTRY STOCKED ONE CAN AT A TIME!

NEWS FROM THE CHILDREN'S DEPARTMENT
The Summer months will before we really know it!
VBS is coming!!!!! in July
Four nights in JULY -July 15, 16, 17,18 from 6:30 - 8:00 P.M.
Gotta Move! is a Vacation Bible School curriculum designed to give children a biblical understanding of what it means to be a Christian and walk with God. Through each lesson children will see that God provides everything we need to be close to Him. However, He does require a response - having faith means we Gotta Move! Day 1: His Grace, Our Obedience (Genesis 6-7)
God created us to be near to Him. Children will see the difference in how God made man compared to every other living thing in creation. They will also look at the story of Noah in a new way and see how he walked with God even though no one else in his generation did. Children will learn that we are only able to be close to God through His grace and the favor He gives us. Our response should be to walk in obedience. Day 2: His Word, Our Commitment (Joshua 1 & 3)
On this day children will see how God showed the world His mighty power through the Israelites. Even though they were a special group of people chosen by God, He expected them to show their commitment to Him and His Word. Just as the Israelites were responsible to take the Word of God with them to the Promised Land, we as Christians should be committed to knowing Scripture so we have it with us wherever we go.Day 3: His Son, Our Response (John 1)
God had provided the perfect place for Adam. During the time of Noah, He washed away all of the sin outside of the ark. He provided the Israelites with His Holy Word and great men of faith to lead them. However none of these things could eliminate the power of sin. It was only through the sacrifice of God’s Son that we could be saved from the penalty of sin forever! Jesus gave glory and honor to God through His life, death and resurrection. Children will learn that by walking with Jesus, they too can bring glory and honor to God. Day 4: . Gotta Move Celebration at 6:30-7:30 p.m. We will invite the congregation and the parents to a program the children will put on in the sanctuary and then meet either in the gym or the courtyard for soft serve ice cream!
Join us as we celebrate and learn how to walk with GOD!!!! Each night teaching children how to depend on Jesus and His Holy Spirit to teach us how to make the right decisions and choice daily .............I think even us adults could use some lessons on this, don't you?
We will move all over the place! GOTTA, GOTTA, MOVE there's no time like this summer to follow Jesus.
Sunday, May 5 at 6:30-7:30 p.m. - Organizational Meeting for VBS. I am looking for volunteers who will be interested in leading children to Christ! It takes a whole church to do VBS and praying is as an important job as teaching . . . preparing crafts . . . . to set up and tear down. Please consider changing a child's life and come to our meeting. If you have any questions, please call Pam Waidner at 574-259-0981 or 574-229-8938. Pam Waidner

Children's Sunday School
New Class Formed
The 4th, 5th, and 6th class have been meeting in their own class now and have enjoyed being together.........now they are older ones and that is quite a special thing! April Horvath and Selena Mast are their teachers. For the kids--- this is an extension of WHAM and I think they are digging it!
We have almost completed a 13 week study entitled Kid's Travel Guide to the Armor of God. The children are learning about the Spiritual realm being real as the rest of the world. According to the Bible there are battles raging all around us all the time against the followers of God. We have been learning that GOD gives us tools to get us through these battles and we have learned that God will win the war we just need to be prepared for battle. We have been exploring the power of God and how He provides protection against the devil's attacks, as well as practical teaching on how they can stand firm in their faith.
Last week the 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders wrote their version of the Lord's Prayer (watch for it in the Concern)
Our next 13 week study is entitled Kid's Travel Guide to the Lord's Prayer will begin Sunday, March 3. The children will learn what prayer is that it isn't a magic wand we wave in front of God to get him to turn events and situations to our advantage but that it is a beginning of building a relationship with God our Father. We will study the guide to prayer Jesus gave us in the prayer called the Lord's Prayer. We like other churches recite this passage on a weekly basis , but memorizing and reciting doesn't ensure that we understand the concepts behind these verses we recite. We will learn together about God's holiness, God's provision, and the importance of forgiving as well as being forgiven, and so on. What we hope to accomplish that the children will come away with not just words memorized but will be able to apply these Biblical truths to their lives.
We will break for a Easter Study for Palm Sunday and Easter.
Our Lord's Prayer study will end on Sunday, June 9th and Summer Sunday School will begin!
Would still like to schedule people for our older kids during first service........if you are interested please let me know.
We will be doing a GO FISH VBS entitled Gotta MOVE 2013 is a Vacation Bible School curriculum designed to give our children a biblical understanding of what it means to be a Christian and walk with God. Through each lesson our children will see that God provides everything we need to be close to Him. However, He does require a response - having faith means we Gotta Move!
LIBRARY UPDATE
The library is OPEN! If you would like to check out a book, pull it off the shelf, write the date and your name on the card, and leave it on the desk. There should be a box there for the cards. The books can go out for about 2 to 3 weeks, depending on your reading style. When returning, drop them in the book drop. If you have any questions about the library, feel free to ask Jennifer Mark. She will be in the library most Sundays during first service, or down in Narthex after first service. Library cards will be used just as soon as we can get the technology part of the library finished. Thank you for the patience, and hopefully you’ll make good use of our collection!

PRAYER SHAWL MINISTRY
Thursdays at 1:00-3:00 p.m. in the Loving Hands Sunday School Classroom. The Prayer Shawl Ministry has received several inquiries about our ministry by those interested in forming their own. Some inquiries came from those who had received a prayer shawl, other simply heard what we do. We are privileged to have shared our prayer shawl information with ladies in South Bend, Elkhart, and South Carolina. What a joy to think that what we do here at Albright might grow up in other communities.
There are no words to describe the richness of fellowship time we share with God and one another. Many times coming in on an empty tank and leaving filled. We share devotional time, faith and the blessings of seeing God at work thru the shawls and we are all encouraged - a good place to be!
Several of the ladies have the wonderful gift of being God led in their shawl making. They might feel the need to make a shawl for a person but do not know the need. Other times they may feel led to make a shawl for a person not yet known to them. When the shawl come together with the person and the need it's like see God at work! One lady received black yarn as a gift and wondered what to do with black. A need surfaced in one of her family members and when asked what her favorite color might be - you guessed it- black! One of our gifted ladies recently started out making a blue shawl with the yarns she had on hand. By the time she finished it was a large shawl which would make you think for a man. She had felt a leading on this shawl and asked if there was an need - indeed there was a need. A taller woman with a great need and her favorite color was…of course… blue. As we witness and share these God sightings we are blessed. We invite you to share with us any God sightings you see. It encourages and feeds our hearts.
Thru these beautiful ladies who come offering their time, talents, hands, hearts and yarns, we have been able to touch 468 lives for God!
A big thank you to the giver of the electric tea kettle for our prayer shawl ministry room and the joy it adds to our meeting times. We thank all of you for your donations of yarns, of dollar donations, your support of our fundraising "Powell the Florist Bouquet Cards", your encouragement and support that helps us to continue God's work. May God bless you all!
